Product Description
These planking handles are an excellent addition to any Align-Pilates reformer or combo Pilates chair in the A, C, H, and F series. There are sixteen different configurations that can be made with the four-way rotatable orientation of the planking handles and the four height-locking settings for each direction. Planking handles are useful for both athletes and your recuperating clients. The handles are excellent for exercises involving planks, but they are capable of much more.
By turning the handles at a right angle to the footbar, you can position yourself perfectly when working with clients who have RSI, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, or difficulty bearing their own weight on the footbar for prolonged periods of time. By assuming this alternate posture, wrist pain and discomfort may be reduced. When rotated outward, the handle serves as an extended footbar. This allows for better postural alignment in exercises like the scooter exercise that do not place the user against the reformer.
They can also be used as a wider footbar for larger clients when doing hands- or feet-on exercises, or as a stability point for standing rehab exercises. Planking handles have the added advantage of being able to be used in offset positions, i.e., one high, one low, or one facing the head end and the other the footbar end. This allows for some really challenging exercises and is great for working on reducing the influence of a dominant arm or leg. By using the plank handles on our Combo Pilates Chair, you can get similar benefits. Only in pairs; the maximum user weight is 150 kg.
